let's get to know each other

My name is Rob Clairmont

I’m an Ottawa photographer, and have lived in this beautiful city all my life. I love all aspects of the photographic process. The challenge is never mundane and the reward I get from creating a reflection of someone’s happiness, passion, energy or desire is never less than a gift. When you work with me, you benefit from decades of experience, as well as my easy-going nature and passion for making real connections with people.

A few fun things about me . . .

Love of music

I started playing guitar when I was 11 and have been in various rock bands since I was 16. Perhaps that is where my love of music and event photography comes from. I love the environment and the energy that comes from the stage!

Pay it forward!

Paying it forward is important to me. I’m a team leader for Habitat Canada Global Village and have been on homebuilding trips to help families in Portugal, Lesotho, Cambodia and Bolivia. I’m also the lead organizer of a large volunteer group in Ottawa that helps out organizations like Shepherds of Good Hope, The Ottawa Mission, the Ottawa Food Bank and various charity events around town.

My happy place

I love being in nature, whether it’s a hike, a paddle or just sitting by a fire listening to the call of the loons with the stars above. One of my all-time favorite activities is canoe camping in Algonquin park.

Photography is my passion!

My love for the craft was inspired by my grandfather, an avid photographer himself. He taught me that photography is a priceless way to see life beyond the naked eye — that pictures are treasured reminders of moments lost to time. I am proud to carry on his tradition of photographing people, wildlife and nature. I've also incorporated my passions for music and travel in what I photograph whenever I get the chance. You can check out some of my favourites from my personal gallery here.

Now you've heard a little bit of my story... I’d love to help share yours!
